Thakral Information Systems Ltd. successfully led the end-to-end migration of Oracle RAC workloads from legacy IBM V7000 storage to Huawei OceanStor Dorado 5000 V6 for First Security Islami Bank. The project involved detailed site surveys, compatibility checks, SAN zoning redesign, and use of Huawei MigrationDirector for minimally disruptive LUN migration.

Legacy IBM SAN switches were replaced post-migration with Huawei SNS dual-switch fabric. The solution ensured high availability, improved performance, and seamless integration with AIX-based Oracle RAC clusters.

  • Migration of Oracle RAC workloads with <2 hours downtime using Huawei MigrationDirector
  • Deployment of Huawei Dorado 5000 V6 with customized requirements and dual-switch SAN fabric.
  • Independent zoning for host and migration traffic to ensure performance isolation.
  • Full validation of multipath redundancy and ASM compatibility on AIX hosts.
  • Joint commissioning and UAT sign-off with customer IT, Thakral AIX and Thakral Oracle teams.
