Gurmukh Singh Thakral is the revered Chairman of the Thakral Group, the family business originally founded in Singapore in 1905. With a proud legacy spanning over a century, he has guided the Group’s growth from its early textile roots in Bangladesh (since 1972) to becoming a diversified global enterprise encompassing IT, electronics, real estate, finance, and e‑commerce.
Under his leadership, the Group expanded from Singapore into Japan (1936), China (1953), and beyond—with notable businesses in Bangladesh, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Dubai, and parts of Europe. Mr. Thakral is especially committed to Bangladesh, where he holds deep connections since the country’s independence, supporting both business initiatives and corporate social responsibility

A Fellow Chartered Accountant and university topper, he has spent 16+ years in Bangladesh driving consistent business growth and over 30 years of leadership in finance, sales, and IT. He leads a 300+ member team, managing revenues over $70 million and building strong partnerships with top banks and government entities.
He has spearheaded the adoption of IBM Power Systems, Cloud, and AI solutions across Bangladesh’s financial sector. His focus on digital transformation includes core banking, trade finance, AML, cybersecurity, and payment solutions. Under his leadership, Thakral has become one of the leading system integrators in Bangladesh. He is known for driving innovation, fostering leadership, and building lasting client relationships.
Mr. Shahriar has completed his MBA, from TRIUM Global Executive MBA program. ( NYU Stern school of Business, The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) & HEC Paris.) He did MS in Engineering from University of Houston and Bachelor of Engineering from Bangladesh University of Technology (BUET). He got certified as Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute (PMI).
Mr. Shahriar is an Entrepreneurial and Innovative Business Leader. He has spent 32+ years of his professional career as a key organizational resource at Two Fortune Global 500 companies and worked across 9 countries. Very recent, he was leading Country Operations is for one of the Top Global Business Conglomerates based out of South Asia.
He started his career with Global Giant Schlumberger (Now SLB, A Global Technology Company) where he has served around 21 years (1996 to 2016) with his last assignment as Regional Director for East & Northeast India & Bangladesh. Before joining with us he served at Adani Group (Jan 2017 to onwards) as President & Group Country Head Bangladesh.
Mr. Abdullah is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB). With over 30 years of experience in financial management, he has held key roles in both national and multinational organizations, including Petrobangla, BAT, Canlinx, Rangs, Aggreko, and Huawei.
Mr. Abdullah began his career at Bangladesh Oil, Gas & Mineral Corporation (Petrobangla) and later led the finance operations for Rangs Group and Wings. He also served as Head of Finance for the UK-based Aggreko International in Bangladesh and worked with Huawei Technologies Bangladesh.
Throughout his career, Mr. Abdullah has demonstrated expertise in financial strategy, corporate governance, and cross-border financial management.
Known for his dedication, customer-centric approach, and deep market insight, he has played a pivotal role in expanding Thakral’s PC business in Bangladesh. He is leading the Lenovo business more than 20 years. Mr. Rahman holds both a Graduation and Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka.
An innovative leader with strong analytical skills, he has been with Thakral since 2008, managing IBM solutions and driving enterprise sales.
He has extensive experience in hardware, software, and IT services, consistently exceeding multimillion-dollar sales targets. He has successfully led projects across key sectors, including government, manufacturing, telecom, banking, and finance.
A Computer Science graduate, he is known for building long-term customer relationships and delivering sustained value to clients and the organization.
